    Requiem for Jason Campbell’s Season

    By Jamie Mottram | December 7, 2007

jc-cart.jpgIt appears that Jason Campbell’s first full season is over, and in gruesome, gut-wrenching fashion. Improbably, Todd Collins came in and led the Redskins to victory in a must-win situation. And even though the injury came on the heels of what was a four-game losing streak, faith in JC remains.

Skins fans love No. 17. He may fumble too much, he may be inaccurate at times and he may throw a flat deep ball, but in JC we trust. He’s the quarterback of the future, and we hope his healing process is swift, painless and complete.

Coming into the year, questions abounded regarding his ability to be a starting QB, but, going into what would be his final game of 2007, he was trusted and effective enough to set a team record for most pass attempts in a three-game span (140). It’s clear that Gibbs and the rest of the franchise have their faith in this composed, statuesque young man and his rifle arm. I bet the Bears wish they could say the same about Rex Grossman.

Now the Skins are onto the remaining three games of their season (at New York, at Minnesota and Dallas at home), and I’m thankful that, at 6-7, they’re still playing for something, at least for another 10 days.

god, that was rough. i’m just happy to hear nothing tore, so his long-term prospects seem to be ok. and who would have thought Touchdown Todd Collins would pull out that game?

When JC went down, I texted my buddies that the Skins are cursed.

I like JC and think he has a shot to be a good QB in this league. Skins need to improve their line and WR core before he will be able to truly blossom.

How much money do they have tied up and or spent in S.Moss, Radle El, and the rapper?

God hates the Redskins. Assuming he/she exists.

even though I really don’t like the Redskins, I’ve liked Campbell since his days as Auburn. He throws a tight spiral, and I like it when things are tight
