Nats Bring Another Blog Icon Into the Fold

    By Jamie Mottram | December 4, 2007

tyler-clippard-grooms.jpgWell, maybe not an “icon” so much as “a guy I remember seeing on Deadspin once.” His name is Tyler Clippard, and he’s the sexy beast pictured here. Apparently, he was the Yankees’ 7th-best prospect and Jim Bowden got him for some minor leaguer. Sounds good to Capitol Punishment:

Clippard turns just 23 and has a pretty solid track record in the minors, including an eye-popping 175 K in 2006 and 181 in 2005! For his career, he has 640 K in 609 minor-league innings, and he instantly becomes one of the Nats’ best K pitchers.

So, just to recap, Washington has added Lastings, Elijah and now Tyler in the past week alone. And the Winter Meetings have just begun! Yes, 2008 may be a very good year at Nats Park indeed, especially for bloggers.

And, because I feel bad about subjecting you to a young man’s rock-hard abs and groomed nether region, here’s the the wife of Nats 2B Felipe Lopez:

He looks like somebody the DTC threw peanuts at while they were all at Dave and Busters in Arundel Mills.

Isn’t this the kid who pitched for the Yankees on a Sunday night against the Mets? And if I remember correctly he had a bad ance problem and he looked like the illegitimate child of Freddy Krueger? Or was that another Yankee pitcher?
