Heartbreaking News: Sean Taylor Shot

S-Dot Taylor was shot in his Miami home late last night. The severity of the injury is in question, but it sounds like he’s in extremely critical condition after a gunshot wound to the groin. It’s being reported that the shooting happened during a burglary gone wrong.
Either way, this is awful news and our thoughts are with the Boom King and his loved ones. We’ll keep updating this space as we learn more.
Update: Jason La Canfora is all over this and says Taylor is “stabilizing.”
Update No. 2: Cooley says Taylor is in a coma following six-hour surgery.
Update No. 3: The shooting occurred in Taylor’s bedroom, where he was with his girlfriend. Two shots were fired (one missed). Nothing was stolen.
Update No. 4: La Canfora ominously reports that Taylor is “nonresponsive and unconscious,” but I’m glad Barstool Sports thinks this is funny.
Update No. 5: Bucktown Skins Fan creates a tribute to Taylor. Well done.
Update No. 6: Great news emerges that Taylor has stirred.

I don’t know what to say. I just drove home from DC yesterday. I was devastated by the loss yesterday, and this just kills. I grew up loving the Skins (even through all the crap), and it just sucks.

This is the worst day ever for any Redskin fan.
Hard to find anything positive in 2007 when it comes to the Redskins.
He will never play again. I hope he pulls through and is able to at leats live a normal life.

Agree with The Mayor, has to be one of the worst days ever to be a Redskins fan. Hope he pulls through.

Hmm. Should say right under the photo of sean in the top right “join this group”. Can email an invite if that doesnt work.
Also, I’m wearing my white Sean Taylor #21 jersey to work tomorrow. Have to show some love for the guy.

This is awesome news. When he comes to, I hope this gives the Redskins the inspiration to get their act in gear and start winning some games. Man, can you imagine what it is gonne be like the 1st home game that he is back in, playing or not (I believe he will play again)

Wtf with Wilbon? Everything I’ve heard/read today has been that ever since Sean had a baby girl 18 months ago he’s been a changed man. Where’s Wilbon getting his insight? Sean is notorious for not talking to the media, so is Wilbon basing his opinion purely on what he knows of Sean’s past troubles? That whole chat Wilbon came off as very, very cold.
