Redskins Cover the Spread, But Not T.O.

    By Jamie Mottram | November 18, 2007

jc-statue-status.jpgTo paraphrase Chris, this was about as good a game as we could expect.

It sucks to lose, especially to Dallas, but the Redskins have proven — in this game and previously at Green Bay — that they can play with the NFC heavies. The trick now is actually winning five out of six to get into the playoffs.

Anyway, here are notes from the loss that was:

Round 2 is at FedEx on December 30th. Let’s just hope it means something.

I guess having half your secondary injured makes a minor difference. Skins sans Taylor was much like Oregon sans Dixon: You really don’t understand the impact til they aren’t there.

It was a good game. I feel better about this loss than I do about the win against the Cardinals. We almost looked like a football team out there (except for Reed Doughty). I think this is the first time I’ve seen the Redskins pull off a 2-minute drill in about 5 years.

The good news is, if we’re still in contention for a wildcard spot by the Dallas home game, the Cowboys will probably be resting their starters …

Has anyone noticed that the Redskins are 0-4 when Aikman and Buck broadcast the games? Giants, Packers, Pats, and now the Cowboys. Can we get Gibbs to make a call into Mr “GOD”dell’s offices about this?

      Two thoughts:

      1. I agree about Gibbs and that 4th & 1. What’s he thinking? You’ll give up field position if you fail on either option, but you have to prefer the odds on a 1 yard run, right?

      2. Eli actually looked like an actual Manning today. An inferior Manning, but a Manning nonetheless. He still looked like he pooped in his pants but, you know, he looked like he was happy about it. Peyton looks a lot more like Eli BTW without Marvin.
