Friday’s Basically Top Five Blog Links
By Jamie Mottram | November 16, 2007
Here are the Basically Top Five sports blog links of the day. They’re not DC-centric (like the rest of Mr. Irrelevant) because they serve a larger purpose for Blog Show, Yahoo! Sports and America, all of which have a national focus. Expect them to publish right here by 9 a.m. Eastern Monday-Friday, and send me tips if you’d like.
- There may be a new queen among sports WAGs. Her name is Athena Barber, and she’s NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer’s girlfriend. But can she topple the defending champ, Jeff Gordon’s wife?
- Mercury Morris is embarrassing himself. The perfect-season ‘72 Dolphins’ obsession with the perfect ‘07 Patriots continues.
- Who has Bonds’ 762nd HR ball? Someone who, in light of yesterday’s indictment, is about to get filthy rich.
- An underclassmen is in line to win the Heisman. With Dixon’s injury, Tebow moves to the top of the list and tries to make history.
- Digger Phelps is starring in a play. That is all. Have a good weekend, everybody.

Mercury Morris is probably the most annoying member of that team. If any senior citizen deserves a Hogan big boot and leg drop, it’s him.

I realize that running a draw play up the gut on every down is difficult, but I’d have to give the Heisman to either Reesing or Daniel, son.
