‘Fire Joe Gibbs’ Guys Have Alotta Nerve
By Chris Mottram | November 13, 2007
Joe Gibbs and I have had our problems. Sometimes I love him, other times I think he’s senile and out of touch. And yet other times, I say things like “joe gibbs is a [redacted] sucker mother [redacted] old pile of [redacted] [redacted] him and [redacted] his jesus loving [redacted]” via text message after the Skins blow (another) late lead. We have a love-hate thing like that.
But never ever would I (soberly) suggest that he should be fired. Some douchebags disguised as Redskins fans have decided to do just that.
The site is called FireJoeGibbsNow.com, and they don’t seem to present much reasoning for their blasphemous stance, other than to say that the game has passed Gibbs by. Naturally, their recommendation for improving the franchise is to “just burn the team to the ground.” The full mission statement from these English majors:
Well Skins fans, sometimes it’s better to take hold of our destiny and damn the torpedoes, than it is to wallow in the misery of knowing that a once great icon of the gridiron has seen the game go by him. Here we are at 5-4 this season and we all know that the coaching staff has done little more with the team than last season, (5-11). Let’s just burn the team to the ground and start over. Let’s call for Dan Snyder to man up and look ahead to next season. In order to do that, he has to: FIRE JOE GIBBS NOW!
Now, if Joe Gibbs decides after this season that he doesn’t want to coach anymore (so that we can hire Bill Cowher), then so be it. But as far as I’m concerned, he can coach the Skins to mediocrity as long as he wants to. Or at least for one more season.

no no, not cowher. we want russ grimm.
also, i agree. Gibbs can do no wrong. except the wrong he seems to do all the time. but firing him? out of the question. outrageous, even.
