Best Ballplayer Bow-Hunting Photo Ever
By Jamie Mottram | October 24, 2007
First off, I’m biased because Will Clark is my favorite athlete of all-time, even if he never played up to his contract with Baltimore.
Secondly, all credit for this goes to O’s blog Camden Chat, which I read all season long, for finding this particular photo.
Last off, take in the awe-inspiring goodness of Clark, Buddy Groom and World Series participant Mike Timlin holding bows — in uniform, mind you — and posing alongside stuffed deer, boar and humans.

Update: partmule tells a great Will Clark story in the comments. You are implored to check it out.

The F’ing mustache on groom is the icing on the cake! What would it take to bring those back in, what athlete? Beckett? LT? Arenas? Brady?

Will is king! I had beers in the back of his pick-up during spring training in Arizona (when he was with the Giants) back in the early 90’s.
My buddy played in the Giants organization — never past triple A — and I came out to watch a few games. After one game, we’re walking through the lot and Will yells over “Florez!” — my buddy’s name — “get yer ass over here for a beer! And bring meat with ya!” Needless to say, I was meat.

Excellent article. I believe that if more people tried bow hunting, they would be surprised how much fun this can be. I invite you and your readers to visit my new site, Silent Draw Outdoors. This is a new breed of hunting and outdoor adventure. Watch bow archery hunting videos of big game in North America.
