As a Lingering O’s Fan, I Don’t Care That Kevin Millar Threw Out the First Pitch
By Jamie Mottram | October 22, 2007
Baltimore 1B/DH Kevin Millar threw out the first pitch at Fenway last night before Game 7, and O’s fans are smarting while Sawx fans are gloating. As someone who has rooted for the Orioles since the Larry Sheets era and was rooting for Cleveland in this series, I could not care less.
Everyone knows Millar’s best days came with Boston. He was good with Florida and has been OK with Baltimore, but he won the World Series there (and not just any Series, either) and it was in Fenway where they blasted his version of ‘Born in the USA.’ Plus, it’s not as if his allegiance keeps him from trying to beat Boston’s ass every time out. As an Oriole, he’s hit better vs. them than everyone else — a .272 average and one HR/17 AB as opposed to .261 and one HR/31 — including a walk-off job in August.
So give the guy a break and let him have his fun and hope he hits in ‘08 like he did in ‘04. Only after doing his Ray-Ray on Opening Day, of course.

If there is any professional athlete likely to fall into the Baltimore Harbor by accident, it would be this guy.

Millar had a much better day than Ray and his boys.

Once again, Plasticman is a raging fucking douchebag. We have made 22 posts about the Orioles in the three months since our re-launch.
