Kyle, You May Wanna Steer Clear of Down-and-in on Kaz
By Chris Mottram | October 4, 2007
Kaz Matsui had four home runs all season (unlike his brother, Hideki, who hit 25). So with the bases loaded against the Phillies today, you’d think at worst he’d clear the bases. But be couldn’t possible hit a grand slam, right? Well, maybe Kyle Lohse should heed the advice of a certain TBS broadcaster. “Matsui’s power left-handed is down-and-in”:
That’s some psychic network shit right there. And you have to love that old woman in the Rockies jersey. Amazing that no fans had poured a beer on her head yet.
The mad managerial skillz of Clint Hurdle isn’t to be overlooked here either. He pinch hit for his pitcher (in the 4th inning of a 3-2 game, mind you), which kept the inning alive for Matsui to drop that bomb on Philly. The game is still in progress, but I’m gonna go ahead and likely jinx the Rockies by saying the Phillies are dunzo. Oh, Philadelphia. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. So sad.
