Philadelphia’s Douchebaggery Continues To Be Off the Charts
By Chris Mottram | September 23, 2007

You probably didn’t notice that I haven’t been around the past few days. I was out of town attempting to end my unemployment (more on this later, maybe). I got back yesterday afternoon and went straight to RFK to watch the Nats lose to the Phillies for the sole purpose of reminding Philly fans who won on Monday night. As Enrico (who I might add is not a douche) from The 700 Level points out, there were plenty of them to talk shit to:
The outfield was full of rowdy Phillies fans who made the quick trip down to our nation’s capital. Philadelphia lived up to it’s reputation as being well traveled, loud, drunk, and obnoxious. A group of about 50+ Phillies fans all sat in centerfield and formed what was the loudest cheering section of the entire ball park.
To add to that, I was told that on Friday night the Phillies section in centerfield was spotted at one point screaming “fag” and “asshole” at the Nationals mascot as he was taking photos with children. Classy.
Enrico’s description, which was of Friday night’s game, was basically ditto for last night, especially the “obnoxious” part. You could hear chants of “E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles” and “D.C. Sucks.” Chant what you will about the Phillies being a marginal playoff team, or the Nats sucking, but the Eagles are 0-2. And they just lost to D.C. On Monday Night Football. In Philly. Might be a good idea to keep the Eagles cheers at home.
Of course, I did my best to remind them of this, and their best rebuttal seemed to be “who won the East last season!?” I simply cannot argue with that.
But enough about silly baseball. I’m off to FedEx to watch the Skins kill the Giants (please god). Gates open at 12:15 for the 4:15 kickoff, and my Jason Campbell throwback is so fresh and so clean. Enjoy the games my babies.

I’m pretty sure Philadelphians chant E-A-G-L-E-S as part of their wedding vows. I guess I can’t blame them though, you gotta keep at least one bright spot when you’re marrying a girl from Philly.
