Noel Devine, You Are Ridiculous
By Chris Mottram | September 13, 2007
The fact that WVU is ever held to under 50 points is amazing.
Regardless of what position they’re listed as, the Mountaineers have quite possibly the four best running backs in NCAA football on one team with Pat White, Steve Slaton, Darius Reynaud, and now freshman Noel Devine. Devine had his big collegiate break-out party tonight against my Terps, rushing for 136 yards on five carries. That’s 27.2 yards per carry. I hadn’t previously seen him play, but based on some of his high school highlights, I’d say tonight’s showing will be the norm, not the exception:
Maryland put up a good fight though, especially compared to last year’s 45-24 blow out, but WVU’s unstoppable run game proved too much for the Terps to handle. Forget the weak conference argument, WVU is a legit BCS Title contender. Plus, their women know how to drink.

Do Not forget about WVUs ability to burn couches. It is required of their student body. If they win or lose the BCS title game, the whole state might go up in flames and even Sen. Robert Byrd not be able to stop it.

After surviving a tight first half against Marshall last week, this WVU team looks solid. It would be cool to get to see them play on a big stage come January.

There’s also Owen Schmitt, who might be the best FB in the country, hails from Fairfax and sports a gnarly mohawk.

I feel sorry for and despise Noel Devine at the same time. I feel sorry for him because he’s got two kids already and can’t read (that’s no joke). I despise him because he’s able to go to a major university just because he can run fast. But he’s quite the legend down here.
