Top Three Sports Sites That Need RSS

    By Jamie Mottram | September 4, 2007

rss-nerds.jpgIt’s about to get real geeked out up in here, hence the image of Gilbert and Lewis …

I, like fellow internerds, sift through the web via RSS feeds (up to 127 and counting). So it sticks in my craw when a favorite of mine doesn’t offer syndication; real, simple or otherwise.

With that, here are the top three sites that I don’t visit nearly often enough, just because they don’t have an RSS for me to pop in my reader:

    1. Joe Sports Fan: Hands-down hilarious, especially their Worthless Card Collection, fake MySpace pages and Fans of the Week.
    2. Pro Football Talk: The number one source for NFL rumors, and I never get them direct because I never remember to go there. Regardless, cheers to Mike Florio for snagging a TSN column.
    3. SI’s Hot Clicks: A most excellent daily roundup of the best in sports blogging, yet the only reminder I get to check it out comes via email from the editor himself. Speaking of, Jimmy Traina is doing excellent work and should be hoisted atop all our shoulders.

Note: None of these sites are blogs as they aren’t on a blogging platform. If they were blogs, they’d have RSS feeds. So they still rule, just not as much as they should.

Update: Upon seeing this post on my RSS reader my head nearly imploded.

Update No. 2: God bless ‘em, JSF is now offering a feed.

I blog about hot chicks, you blog about hot clicks. There’s a little something for everyone here at Mr. Irrelevant.

Thank you, Jason. I’m sorry I missed that. Is it a recent development?

      It was new to me.

Hmmmm. I also see that Brahsome.com receives no love. Maybe it’s because we don’t have a feed either…up, no wait. We have one of those.

When is Chris going to submit his Desert Island Picks btw?

Jason, as it turns out, JSF’s RSS was actually created in response to this post. Very cool.

bstone, I’d subscribe to Brahsome’s feed if I could find it. http://www.brahsome.com/atom.xml isn’t working with Bloglines.

Egg on my face then. Have to fix that. Do apologize.

bstone: I posted my desert island picks a minute ago, son: http://misterirrelevant.com/index.php/2007/07/25/my-top-10-desert-island-albums/
