Dustin Pedroia: Orioles Fans Hate Thee
By Chris Mottram | September 2, 2007
The hits just keep coming for the Orioles. Yesterday, I thought maybe we were out of the dark and into the light, but the Red Sox had to come back and totally redeem themselves by humiliating Baltimore in the form of a no-hitter … by a rookie. Brief review of the past two weeks: O’s give up 30 runs to Texas, O’s give up 11 runs in one inning to Tampa, O’s lose nine straight, I become unemployed (unrelated, yet equally as noteworthy), and now the no-no. Awesome.
Anyone who saw the highlights knows that Clay Buckholz (who I had previously never heard of) was only able to accomplish the feat thanks to Dustin Pedroia (a rookie I definitely have heard of) coming up with an absolutely absurd play at short in the seventh. Peep the video and observe two things: 1) Tejada’s reaction. Not sure if that was directed at Pedroia or the umpire or himself. 2) Pedroia’s reaction (”f–k yeah!”).
I can’t wait for next Sunday when I can officially stop paying attention to these assclowns.
