Breakdown of the Redskins’ Near Season-Ending Sequence

    By Jamie Mottram | August 22, 2007

I didn’t watch Washington’s preseason loss to Pittsburgh so I didn’t see Jason Campbell’s nearly devastating knee injury, but the good folks at the new blog Post Game Heroes are there for me, providing a frame-by-frame breakdown of the frightening play.

This warrants mentioning not just because it’s a fine, insightful post, but because the PGH crew, especially a fellow named Dillweed, are absolutely killing it lately. If you’re not reading their offensive and defensive breakdowns after each game, you’re not fully understanding what’s happening out there on the field for the Skins.

Oh, and the bottom line on the play: Undrafted Maryland LT Stephon Heyer (Chris Samuels’ replacement) got spread wide by a fake safety blitz and DE Brett Keisel blew by him on the inside before unnecessarily going low on JC.

Campbell shouldn’t be out there until Samuels is back. I just got a Campbell jersey, and can’t wear it if he’s out for the season.
