Modesto Pena Shows Class, Mo’ Power
By Chris Mottram | August 21, 2007
Three Wily Mo posts in four days can only be described as one thing: young love (as opposed to Young love, which is equally as strong, yet different). The Hulk hit yet another mammoth bomb last night in his third game with the Nats, and ended with a 3-for-4 evening (note: he “only” has two k’s in 11 ABs thus far). Beyond annihilating baseballs, Wily Mo showed he’s an appreciative, classy man-child:
“Via the Boston Herald, here’s the message he left Sox fans on Sunday: ‘To my sisters, brothers and fans of the Red Sox Nation. I want to take a moment to thank you and the entire Red Sox organization for your support during my time in Boston. Your constant passion for baseball and your beloved Red Sox is unmatched and has touched me deeply. I will always consider you with a special place in my heart. The Red Sox organization deserves only the best and the Red Sox Nation is just that. Peace in life, Wily Modesto Pena.’”
I too would like to take a moment to thank the entire Red Sox organization for giving us this gift. The new ballpark shall be deemed the House That Modesto Built.

That would be an incredibly touching message if it wasn’t left for a bunch of pricks.

Obviously he has never been to Modesto or he would have changed his middle name to just Mo. I’ve been to Modesto, just being a notch above Bakersfield isn’t saying much.
