O’s Relievers Jamie Walker and Chad Bradford Are the New Shake ‘N’ Bake
By Jamie Mottram | August 1, 2007

A big part of Dave Trembley’s godliness has been the bullpen tandem of Jamie Walker and Chad Bradford. Since Sam Perlozzo’s firing, the Deep South duo is sporting a 0.81 ERA over 33 1/3 IP while recording five saves in closer Chris Ray’s absence.
Further endearing them to my heart, clubhouse leader and (gulp) cleanup hitter Kevin Millar refers to them as “Shake ‘N’ Bake” in tribute to the Talladega Nights tandem as well as Walker and Bradford’s countrified roots (previously chronicled by Camden Chat and Saved by the Blog). These boys sport unironic mustaches for chrissakes.
This moniker may be newly minted, as only recently have they been kicking eighth-ninth, lefty-righty ass, and I did just hear of the nickname last night during Millar’s postgame radio interview, so we’ll forgive Rivalfish for leaving “Shake ‘N’ Bake” off their list of the 30 best nicknames in baseball. Overlooking Da Meat Hook, though? Unforgivable.
