Rod Beck Loved Rocks, Guns
By Chris Mottram | July 31, 2007
Former closer Rod Beck died on June 23. He was known to use cocaine on a daily basis, and a police report released tonight paints a clearer picture of the kind of lifestyle he was into:
“In a case on the bedroom floor, ‘four small canisters contained a white powdery residue of suspected cocaine [were found]. The larger canister contained a dried paste, commonly used to produce rock cocaine,’ the report said. They also found a white powdery substance on the roll top desk … Police also found a loaded semiautomatic handgun in a bag containing numerous glass bowl pipes and torch lighters”
As my friend who’s much more street than me would say, “That junk sad, young.” Indeed, it is. But Beck will live on in the form the “tuff bad ass” Reggie in the upcoming film Work Week, so at least there’s that to look forward to.
