Help Wanted: SB Nation Associate Editor

This has nothing to do with DC sports, so move along if you’re already gainfully employed …

Let’s get this out of the way: The position I’m trying to fill requires you to give up any hopes of going outside for an extended period of time over the weekends. We’re talking 8-10 hours every Saturday and Sunday.

Now, if you haven’t x’ed out of this post, the good news: This is a rather prominent editor position for SB Nation, which is poised to become “scary good.” (Some [me] would argue it’s already in that category.) In addition to the 200+ blogs within the network, you may have heard that we recently received a little bit of funding and hired Spencer Hall and Eamonn Brennan. Not to mention they hired this guy a few months back, so you know SBN means business.

Without going into too much detail, here are some basic requirements:

  • As mentioned, must be available to work weekends
  • Extensive blogging/writing experience; having done so on a national scale helps
  • Editor/manager experience isn’t necessary, but certainly is a big plus
  • Vast understanding of the sports internets; web savvy; strong editorial instincts; etc.

Email me if you’re interested. A resume and writing samples wouldn’t hurt.

Former Managing Editor at UPROXX; former Senior Editor at @SBNation; former ska-zine editor, fan of bad sports teams and good beer.

PS: We’re looking for weekend (read: NFL Sunday) help on Shutdown Corner as well, so holler.

And if you want to contribute here on Mr. Irrelevant that’s cool too, but it doesn’t pay so good (read: nothing).

Well boo. As someone looking for a job it’s a shame that considering I hate writing, even though I’m apparently good at it, I have no substantial experience in that field. Sounds like a good opportunity for someone.

I think the popularity of me in name alone should make me qualified for the position.

That, and I hate Chad Dukes.

    Whattya say Mottrams?
