DMV: Someone on the Caps Needs to Drop the Gloves With Carey Price

First, Canadiens goalie Carey Price earned himself a minor penalty for flinging the puck into the Caps celebration after a goal. Then, he did what you just saw above: Whacked Backstrom from the bench after he scored an empty-netter. Easy to be a tough guy when you don’t have to face any (physical) pay-back. [D.C. Sports Bog]

Price, and Habs, have good reason to be upset: Their season is all but over (/jinx) after the Caps lit them up for a second straight game. [Japers Rink]

Agreed – Carey Price showed very poor form and even his team mate Cammalleri called him out on it. My vote would be for Bradley or Chimera (heck even Varly could probably take him), but then again, no need to stoop to his immature level.

    Price is a bitch.

Stan Kasten should be fired for orchestrating the phillies invasion on Opening Day. Maybe this has a bit to do with the low attendence. Kasten could give two shits about the local fan.

I love Ovechkin more and more everyday! Seen the clip of him trying to scalp tickets before game 3?

I normally would point out that it’s Marquis, but he’s making enough money for a 20+ era, he can fight his own battles with all the time fighting the floating bodies he has in his elbow. Seriously? Floating bodies? The Nationals have had their share of ridiculous injuries, but none so injurious as AustinKernsitis (which spread to Nick Johnson’s broken leg as well).

Low attendence? Rockies, Kasten’s opening day debacle (cannot be overstressed), weather, shitty teams, Capitals, ecomoney (why haven’t we made that word official yet?), and maybe crises at work prevents people from being able to attend games every night, huh, ever thing of that?

Perhaps Stan can ask the Phillies fans over to play the next time they have a travel date or their team is out of town.

I love the Caps reaction to Montreals desire to fight/injury/annoy is usually laughter. And winning. Laughing while winning.

I am so glad that you pointed out the Price baby-fit. I agree with Terps that it does seem to piss the opponents off more when the Caps just laugh at their tantrums, which is great, but seriously… why am I seeing so much about Ovie snowing some kid and so little about this? One is arguably “jerky”, but inarguably funny (although I AM biased: I think picking on kids is HILARIOUS), and the other is just blatant childish poor sportsmanship. I would LOVE for someone to at least crash Price in the net, but I would bet that they just light him up again in the Phone Booth and don’t risk any injuries for the next round.

Hey Mottrams, I’ve now hit refresh about 70 times trying to see what you think about Williams. Please to be posting your take soon, or at least drop an e-mail or something.

PS: If you haven’t heard, the Redskins picked Trent Williams in the NFL draft on Thursday.
