DMV: Caps Get Capped, and That’s Okay

ovi-and-sid.jpgDMV is a daily roundup of District-Maryland-Virginia (mostly) sporting links.

Here’s El-Brashir’s gamer on the awful Game 7 that was. Before that, though, a moment to appreciate the season that was, highlighted by a franchise-best record, possibly a second straight MVP for Ovi, the emergence of Backstrom, Green and Semin, the discovery of Varlamov and advancement to the second round of the playoffs, which the Caps hadn’t done since ’98. You know, that’s a very good year. [WaPo]

How come every post listed under “Pittsburgh Is for Whores” is about Pittsburgh sports teams blasting on WSH teams, or wishes of malice on “yinzers?” As a Pittsburgher, its more entertaining to read than anything, but as bloggers with a notable name, you guys seem a bit jealous at what we have here in ‘Da Burgh. And you should. We do have great sports franchises. I wish Our Nation’s Capital the best of luck in getting one of those sometime soon. Until then, i’ll be “whoring it up ‘n’ nat” with our Black & Gold! Keep blogging.

“Pittsburgh Is for Whores” is an inside joke, one that’s probably best left unexplained.

Tony Banks and Rod Strickland. Feels like 2001.

One of many rules here on Mr. Irrelevant is that when you get a chance to blog about Tony Banks and/or Rod Strickland, you take it.
