Clinton Portis Isn’t Here Anymore

I’m listening to Clinton Portis on 106.7 the Fan right now, and here’s what he has to say, among other things:

“I should be released today […] no hard feelings.”

Beyond the 67 posts we’ve made about Portie to date, I don’t have time to pay proper tribute, but I’ll update this post with stuff throughout the day.

I’ll also say this: My favorite player growing up was Art Monk. When he left D.C., Darrell Green assumed that title. When DG retired, Portis took the baton. You’re in good company, CP.

Update: Chris posted our 10 favorite Redskins of the Dan Snyder era. Guess who’s No. 1.

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.

    “The over the hill gang”

    “The Hogs”

    “The Funbunch”

    And now,

    “Portis Pockets Straight”

    Farewell, CP.

It’s the right move to make, yet it is still a bummer to see him go.
