Woohoo no more shitty (or shall I say non-existant) punt returns from Randle El! I’m kind of bummed about Betts though.

I am definitely upset about losing Rock

Ditto on Betts and Rock. Let the Sproles bidding begin I guess. I liked him a few seasons ago, how old is he? How will he fit in? Does Betts’ release mean Portis is here to stay? Nevermind, stupid question. I forgot to take into account the Shanahan factor.

Chargers slapped first and third round tender on Sproles today, so he’s out of the question.

Todd Collins was just released. I was really hoping that they wouldn’t waste the #4 pick on a QB but this is now concerning me.

So, are we still backup RB by committee? Now that I’m in UMD/Nats/Caps mode, thinking about last season makes my head hurt. Scratch that, last season is the reason thinking about last season makes my head hurt.

Incredibly happy to see Randel El is gone. Seriously, Bruce Allen is great in my books

Collins had to go no matter what their plan is the next month or so. They cut a bunch of olinemen and rbs too because they are positions we need to address.

It sucks for me to see Rock and Smoot go, Rock was just a great character guy and Smoot was god damn hilarious. But, I can’t fault any of these cuts.

Rock Cartwright was a “real Redskin,” and will be missed.

I know he isn’t as good as he once was. And I know we’re over paying him. But I question the logic of cutting Randy Thomas before an uncapped year. Beggars can’t be choosers and we are some panhandling mfers when it comes to O-line.

If it’s not evident this offseason, it will never be: it’s a young man’s game. The best days for each of these guys is behind them. While I admire them, especially Betts and Cartwright, long-tenured Skins, their names alone symbolize a losing era in D.C. Appreciate the effort, but let’s clean house. Start over. It’s the right thing to do.

what did you guys think about Wale v. Skip Bayless on First Take today?
Chris Mottram

Can’t say I watched First Take today. Or ever.I’m sure he was more insightful than Bayless. Hard to imagine, I know.

Big day for Wale as Comcast SportsNet interviewed him during the Wiz-Bucks shitfest as well.

So you’re the one still watching the zards? If everyone ignores them, they might get the message and go away (and depress a whole new market).

March 6, 2010 at 7:45 AM
Yes, and it was a truly awful game (lost by almost 30, shot less than 40%, high scorer was 13, only had three guys in double-figures, etc.).

I’m glad we finally started getting rid of these overrated bums! We have a few left that need to go as well, but so far I like the new approach of Bruce Allen and Shanny!

I love what Bruce Allen is doing. Hope to see Westbrook come as third down or just to play when we play the eagles. lol. Gonna miss you Betts.
