Andy’s A-11, Where VCU Is Up

Mr. I Maryland Sports Correspondent Andy Peden casts his weekly ballot in the so-called Atlantic 11 college hoops poll.

It gets very quiet in the world of college hoops for the next few weeks, so the A-11 will take a few weeks off for the holidays.

1. Georgetown (8-1) — It’s been a very good non-conference season.

2. Virginia (8-1) — Another team with a good start to the season. A win at Oregon and they are officially rolling.

3. Virginia Tech (7-3) — So far they have done nothing to stand out.

4. VCU (6-3) — They looked pretty darn good against Richmond, reminded me of the team that made the run last year.

5. Maryland (5-3) — Just waiting for Howard and Len to hit the court.

6. George Mason (7-3) — UVA knocked them back a few notches.

7. Richmond (6-3) — Got crushed in the battle for Richmond.

8-11. American, Loyola and … (Ed. note: JMU!)

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.

I think UVA is putting things together. Gtown will suffer a late collpase, per usual. Read a good thing on the Hoyas why they usually do well early, teams arent used to their offense. The Big East knows it and can stifle it
