Andy’s A-11, Where It’s Almost March

Maryland Sports Correspondent Andy Peden’s ballot in the Atlantic 11

1. Georgetown (21-6, 10-5) — The win streak ended but the Hoyas are still in the hunt for a top-four seed in Big East.

2. George Mason (23-5, 14-2) — Each of the top-three teams from the CAA won their Bracket Buster game. Mason is looking like a 6 or a 7 seed.

3. ODU (22-6, 12-4) — The Monarchs had a strong week as well. They are slowly moving towards comfortably being in the Tournament.

4. Richmond (21-7, 10-3) — The Spiders can’t seem to get over the hump with the top teams of the A-10. The best result of the week was Purdue continuing to roll.

5. Va. Tech (17-8, 7-5) — They put a hurting on MD mid-week but then lost to UVA. Again. VT will be on the bubble until the end.

6. Maryland (17-10, 6-6) — MD really needs to win the last four regular-season games to even be discussed for a bid.

7. VCU (21-8, 12-4) — Big weekend win for the Rams. As I’ve said before, the CAA has a shot at getting three teams in the Tournament.

8. Hampton (19-7, 9-4) — Bad week with a couple losses.

9. JMU (20-9, 9-7) — Can they make a run in the CAA Tournament? (Ed. note: Yes!)

10. American (19-8, 9-3) — Locked into the 2 seed in the Patriot League tournament.

11. Virginia (13-13, 4-8) — They swept VT.

D.C. sports fan and digital media guy that's been doing this since 2004. Once threw a football further than Chris Cooley.
