Draft Standings: Skins Rise to 7

First, a public service announcement: There will be no daily DMV and few postings otherwise this week as Mr. Irrelevant observes the holiday(s). Now, this week’s updated 2012 NFL Draft order, courtesy of NEPatriotsDraft.com:

1. Indianapolis Colts (2-13)
2. St. Louis Rams (2-13)
3. Minnesota Vikings (3-12)
4. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-11)
5. Cleveland Browns (4-11)
6. Tampa Bay Bucs (4-11)
7. Washington Redskins (5-10)
8. Miami Dolphins (5-10)
9. Carolina Panthers (6-9)
10. Kansas City Chiefs (6-9)
11. Buffalo Bills (6-9)

As usual, I’m not sure the gang at NEPatriotsDraft.com has the tiebreakers exactly right, but this much is true: The Redskins will not be drafting any higher than No. 4, nor will they be drafting any lower than No. 11.

Of course, I still want them to beat the hell out of Philadelphia.

  1. I can’t believe this.

They need to lose to Philly if they want to move up to get RG3.

But I’m hoping they trade down and get more young talent. They’ve shown they can draft well with getting guys to their system.

For QB I hope they can groom a 2nd round guy like Russell Wilson who I think is legit and the only knock on him is his size at 5’11.

The other QB I can see the Skins take is Ryan Tannehill. From what I’ve read he’s a perfect fit for Shanahan’s west coast offense. He’s a guy that doesn’t have a great arm but can have some good accuracy on his throws. He’s already played the West Coast offense under Mike Sherman in Texas A&M. Most of all he’s a mobile QB that can get out the pocket. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Skins pick him.

  2. Actually f it, Tannehill used to be a WR and has played QB for a year and a half. Nats have Harper/Strasburg, Wizards have Wall, Caps have Ovechkin, even DC United have Najar. Trade up for Griffin or even Luck.
